I've been having problems with gurb failing to install on dev/sda to fix this I've tried a command found on reddit called sudo ubiquity - b.this command ran the installer which had another problem that didn't happen when I normally run the launcher ubi part man failled exit code 10.i decided it was bcz of the command and went on as usual but it didn't let me past the time network part on the installation. So I closed and went on with the next step with the boot repair app and the repair app in the end fails due to the installer being run in the background (which isnt) I think this is bcz I skipped the update session . Can anyone help me with this problem?I've also deleted sda 1 couldn't delete dev sda 2 for a fresh restart

and also do efibootmgr in terminal, and mention if the first line says "Boot Current"

oblique spoke
#

It does say boot current with 0001

#

Think my disk is messed up

winter locust
#

partition 1 is not marked as EFI

winter locust
#

start with a clean drive as so. then run the installer.

oblique spoke
#

So that would clean my drivers?

#

It says 1 partition is currently active on device/dev/sda

#

I did delete 1 dev sda to try to start fresh would that effect

Dev sda 2?

winter locust
#

anything showing a key. in gparted

#

just right click : unmount

oblique spoke
#

It's showing a key and I cannot unmount

#

Target is busy

winter locust
#

well reboot. and DONT touch the installer icon!

oblique spoke
#

Alrr

winter locust
#

make a new partition table first. from gparted.

oblique spoke
#

Then install?

#

I set to gpt and the dev sda 2 is gone the unallocated file is there which i think its the dev sda 1 (which I deleted) I did set it to gpt though

#

if you cleared the drive sda fully, yes

#

just choose the 'erase and install' option so it does everything automatically

#

btw, to use the boot repair tool, it must be done from a FRESH live boot off the usb. not with installer in the way.

oblique spoke
winter locust
#

that's ONLY IF absolutely needed

#

the installer should just work.

oblique spoke
#

Okk I'll open the installer now and let you know if it happens again

oblique spoke
#

Should I restart and open boot repair app?

oblique spoke
#

So ran the boot repair

#

It gave me a link

#

It said to disable secure boot which I alr did but imma try again

#
