Hey everyone, I’m trying to install Windows 11 for work-related reasons using Ventoy on my Linux Mint system. I used an official Windows 11 ISO, but when I boot into the installer, it gives me an error saying: “Setup has failed to validate the product key.” The ISO is definitely authentic. Has anyone run into this before or know how to fix it?

i will be dual booting linux don’t worry
i just need to use windows temporarily
?
try Wimboot mode in 2nd ventoy screen
also if the win11 download site offers a checksum , like sha256, u can use the 2nd ventoy screen to verify it matches that
i tried wimboot
ensure TPM and Secure Boot is on , with that machine
https://youtu.be/CuonyS3xdwg?t=303 <<5:03 ThioJoe Ventoy Secure Boot enroll steps . You'll need to do this when Secure Boot is on upon next reboot of the usb
also, before doing anything, you must prepare some UNALLOCATED space on the drive, or have a brand new second internal hard drive.
idk why but i just ran a check sum
the Windows installer cannot resize linux partitions (at least probably not without damaging them)
did it match the official sum?
and did you prepare unallocated space on existing hard drive/ssd?
i have plenty of space on my ssd
now i’m getting this @kind copper
that's the Windows Installer?
tf.
again make sure TPM is ON, and SECURE BOOT is ON
and FAST BOOT in BIOS is OFF
and make sure the space IS MADE UNALLOCATED ffs
also try a Windows 10 ISO if needed. and upgrade from that if absolutely needing Win 11
i’ve just cleared my ssd
ok
is it made as a GUID partition table?
cuz i know Win11 demands taht
do u have gparted-live ISO on your ventoy drive also?
if not, get it, or a Mint ISO and copy it to ventoy, and boot either up for a moment plz
i have no operating system now
do u have any other ISO on ventoy?
going to have to pull out my old pc i hope it’s windows
no
well use other pc
cos then i can’t use media creation tool then dual boot linux
you should keep minimum 2 ISOs on ventoy
i didn’t know that was possible to be honest
