I'm dual booting linux mint and windows then i fedora, but fedora added a custom grub overwriting the older one then windows disappeared, but then i tried fixing it trying to return to the old grub now not even linux mint works..

I tried booting windows from usb but it says:
Windows failed to start due to hardware or software changes..

I would absolutely love anyone helping me with this mess..

I just did this exact same thing. I got my mint working again by installing fedora again and choosing Mint at boot via the grub menu. My windows is gone as well but fortunately I have an image installed in a VM if I need it. I would like to get rid of the Fedora install and preserve Mint, so hopefully some can suggest something for us 🙂

So i have everything i need thankfully on my harddisk so i was thinking of installing a clean windows install on ssd then installing mint again

#

But for now I'm looking for an easier way

My mint install is about 2 years old so I have it just how I like it. I've got lots of backups but I could do without the stress of hoping it all goes back 🙂
