#5070 TI

it will function as you would expect a GPU to?
i don't know what other answer you expect
it is really new. LM provides the 570 drivers needed to run it. you may want to use a fresher distro that ships 575+ and the newest kernel, may give less issues. not sure
ik that fedora ships the latest linux compat drivers in the RPM fusion repos
dont worry about it much though, nvidia is just disliked heavily by the community for good reason
but the drivers still work well.
yeah i regret buying the 5070 TI since people on mint prefer mostly AMD gpus ?
I mean you can always return or trade it for an AMD card. infact if you got the newest AMD card, it won't work on LM either. it's unsupported.
so its both the same technically
for the newest cards, in linuxmint, yes.
otherwise nope
okay maybe ill wait a bit and do some more research
highly recomend fedora, has some good drivers in the nonfree rpm fusion repos
what stand RPM for ?
I'm using a 5080 on Linux Mint 22.1 with the nvidia drivers provided by LM's driver manager (570) and they work just fine. I've been playing stellar blade on steam, max ultra settings 200+ fps, while alt-tabbing frequently to stream my gameplay and watch youtube.
Red Hat Package Manager
thats great to hear will test it out !
u dont use the open source driver right from driver manager ?
Right, I use the proprietary Nvidia drivers, I think part of them is technically open source now because Nvidia is moving towards opensource drivers but the kernel module is still proprietary, if I remember correctly. (It might be the other way around)
i wanted to install linux mint on my old macbook but i cant seem to get my wifi adapter working
if i boot from usb i can install the broadcom driver
but if i boot from the linux on hard drive it dosnt seem to be working
If i boot from usb i find it but it dosnt install with it to ssd
How did you make the install usb?
Rufus
Do you have it inserted and mounted when opening driver manager?
