I checked and steam servers arent down so this must be os related, weird thing is the friend menu works its just that I cant access the store
(before that happened I was updating with update manager but it got stuck so I rebooted, after a couple of minutes of the reboot this happened so maybe related?

I confirmed its a dns issue (OS) I changed the browser dns to cloudflare 1.1.1.1 and it worked in browser only

enter your network settings, there will be an option to set DNS.

not loopback, set it for your network card
