Fallout New Vegas either gets stuck processing vulkan shaders or simply refuses to open after hitting play in steam.

Try turning off shader pre caching. Fixed startup issues with games for me. A reasonably fast computer doesn't really need it.

do you have nvidia?

if so, it can't hurt to go back to the nouveau driver and then after a reboot and such, install the nvidia driver again.

this has fixed a problem for me

after a kernel upgrade my graphics were wonky. this fixed it

#

but probably someone else knows more. 🙂
