Hi, I started getting used to my i3wm + arch install but I had issues with virtualbox and it seemed too hard for me to fix, so I switched to linux mint. I miss the window manager so I wanted to try bspwm, however it's not very smooth. oppening a program can take up to 3 seconds. any idea how I can fix that ?
I also tried setting up a shorcut to open kitty on cinnamon and it seems just as slow
#bspwm is slow on linux mint

I need to confirm, that's on a VM?
oh no, It's my main os, I switched from arch to mint because I needed a VM for a class and vbox on arch was broken
I am not sure exactly what could be the reason for such. But, you replaced Cinnamon with bspwm?
no I have both installed
I switch to cinammon because it's not as slow
Yeah, that's a good call. Mint best supports Cinnamon, Xfce, and MATE.
That aside, I suggest checking out your logs for any relevant entries, to troubleshoot said performance issues.
maye it's because I run it liket this tho ?
I tried adding it here and it's slow on cinnamon as well
Not quite sure, I don't use window managers much honestly.
