.
Ill be on my laptop in like 15 minutes
do i show the whole thing idk if theres personal info in that
read it over.
put a z after the last x if it makes a difference, but it shouldnt
generally there's nothing secret there.
@orchid mantle
yep all looks proper. except one curiosity
do efibootmgr
do u see 'boot current' ?
bro im not on windows xd
that isn't a Windows command at all
then i dont understand
do it
i did
and what's it say?
error
more specifically?
it just sounds weird
not like before in windows
isnt the same
do sudo parted -l n show
p2 is boot, esp
so what do i do
do lsblk -o NAME,TYPE,MODEL,LABEL,SIZE,FSTYPE,FSAVAIL,MOUNTPOINT
one line, exact spaces as written
idk how u managed to boot legacy mode
this may be affecting the sound or behaviour mildly
😭
go in BIOS. adjust ur boot order
which first
it's all in there
oh, put the 'ubuntu' loader to top, NOT the hard drive name (LiteOn)
wait let me go in to bios firt
@analog herald im in bios what now
boot category
No category such as boot im on a thinkpad theres
Main,config,date/time,security,startup and restart
Startup?
startup
Okay what now
.
Where tho
uefi boot order
Do i go to boot
unless boot mode shows as 'legacy/csm', in which case , switch that to pure uefi
Slow down lol wait
Do i go to boot
uefi/legacy. now says 'both'. adjust to 'uefi'
Uefi only?
and turn 'quick'boot off
Csm support appears as yes now
it always did
Yeah i have 0 idea where to find that holdon
it says right there
Where
boot mode: quick
Ooooh
set to off or thorough
Theres quick and diagnostics
diagnostics. then check boot order
Diagnostics: the diagnostic splash screen always displays during boot.
Wdym
there must be a way to see devices to boot in a certain order
Boot priority order?
show pic now with any adjustments u made
In boot priority order?
um sure. so u have a record
Dumb question
then of the original screen of boot category
I did its the same
With this csm support as no
ata hdd0 liteonit blablala?
I suppose yes
Done
Now save and exit(boot)?
Xd
Usb cd as 3rd?
i figure it ought to pick up the uefi 'ubuntu' (mint) loader now
can always revert later if need to
just keep in mind this F12 key gets u a simple boot-override menu if needed
cant find it
first line
n bunch of entries, right?
yup
now test the sound out
pretty good lemme try minecraft
i saw ur BIOS/UEFI date was 2018. thus i presume this is the rough age of the machine. and it should likely perform better and boot a bit faster in pure UEFI mode
ill have to check the boot time lol
thanks
sounds fine now?
yeah
lmao
