Hey there, just joined. I'm new to the Linux community, so apologies if my usage of Linux terminology is very sub-par. I'm trying to partition a USB stick (It's a Samsung one, don't know if that matters or not), and I'm not seeing the "Free Space" beneath the /dev/sdb. All it has beneath it is /dev/sdb1. I'll drop some pictures momentarily. I just wanna know how I get said 'Free Space' to show up like the guy on the tutorial got it.

Where it has the entry sdb1 click the minus button
That effectively deletes the partition that's there giving you "free space"
I am assuming you have nothing on said USB that you want to keep
Correct, got both off of amazon yesterday
and while flashing, i made sure to check both were untouched
Do I dare ask why you're making a USB your default disk for an install?
I'm a content creator, and I wanna keep windows at the ready on my laptop so I can access old sound and video files
not ready to wipe my ssd yet
And I am guessing dualbooting on that drive is a nono and you have no second drive you could use?
I do, but said second drive is larger than my C drive and is where a lot of other stuff is stored
Then I guess it makes sense for now.
Just wanting to keep my stuff safe while being able to dip my toes in the Linux waters to see if I like it
