I made two live boot usbs,
With medicat ventoy,
( Why not normal ventoy? Cuz ventoy likes to die a lot )
Specs - amd r9 7900 (non-x)
Mobo - gigabyte gaming x ax v2
( Don't worry it didn't work on my asus proart x670e wifi either )
Gpu - asus 750ti 2gb pc
Ram - ddr5 32 gb running at stock speeds ( I don't overclock them )
Storage - 2 tb hdd partitioned in
30gb for root, 100gb for home, 30gb for root of another os, rest is is storage.
First try, hdmi plugged 750ti gpu.
And it showed me only black screen.
Num-lock worked.
So I connected it to Mobo hdmi
In the first time mint 22.1 got installed successfully that way.
Now since I wanted it to work with my nvidia gpu I installed 550 driver and guess what drivers installed.
I then shutdown pc.
Disconnected hdmi from Mobo connected to GPU.
And I get nothing.... Not even black screen just froze ad m logo looping around for over an hour.
Then I decided to reinstall guess what?
Now it won't go past install multi media step.
Yes, I tried checking, unchecking, it, connecting not connecting internet.
It didn't work.
I can use all the apps usable in live boot but can't install the damned os why???
All this time from the beginning
Secure boot - disabled, all keys had cleared,
Csm support - disabled,
Hdd - ahci,
Raid - disabled,
Fast boot - disabled,
Tpm - all tpms disabled,
Had and have Disconnected other drives,
Bios to the latest version,
All connections to hdd checked they are right multiple times swapped sata cables,
What am I doing wrong?
This used to be so easy on skylake CPUs and on those Mobos never had such issues on them.
And this is the same issue with other linux I tried, fedora, pop they just won't install no matter what.
Yes even with just ventoy, rufus without medicat.
But the same usbs can install windows immediately and successfully.
