Lol ofc faster , many are faster that mint cinneamon tbh , it is good but like the ones i tried xfce , lxqt , ubuntu cinneamon , but it depends bcs for example ubuntu and mint cinneamon arent the same in speed and smoothness , the same i tried once xfce it was good but tried debian facile (xfce french customized with preinstalled stuff) and it was smoother than debian xfce

I had Q4OS on it with KDE. (it also shipped with Trinity together on the same ISO that time) but I would mostly use the Plasma DE

that's why I got it, because I first experimented with Q4 trinity years before, and really thought it was cool. So when I heard they had the new version with both DE's, I got it.

can also disable the xfwm compositor easily, and use Compiz for cool effects

and the task buttons show names (they are the Window Buttons) and simple edit to 'show button labels'

the second picture has perhaps a 'lock screen' applet, the standard stuff, and a Power/session applet

remove whisker menu item, and replace with applications menu. (to search for apps, you will need to do alt+F3)

Just the newer version and wayland and not the lts , even on kubuntu lts the scale screen isnt workimg at all , so i cant change it to 125% and found that problem isnt workimg on any linux distros , either its missing or not functionnal , sometimea i find it but when i go 125% it just goes randomly too zoomed not like in windows

Hi , i tested mint lmde 6 😅 , after installation it got stuck on screen when it asks to remove usb and press enter , i removed usb and when i pressed enter nothing happened , i was forced to shut it down manually 🤣 things dont look good from the start

No , first time hearimg it , its noce at least one can have an idea on the look and stuff , not neceasarly to download each time and test live sessions , but its mainly the look and tryung the feeling of the distro , then we should test a live session for sure to see if its compatible with the computer and not laggy. i tested also many browsers these days on my other windows 10 to get an idea on linux 😅 , but fro mfirefox and all its forks like librewolf, waterfox,mercury, floorp , all uses the same amount of ram when i tested it on a twitch stream , but for a reason some says like thta forks is faster and lightweight but didnt see difference , tried the same with google chrome and ungoogled chrome when i saw some saying that ungoogled chrome is faster and lighter since they removed many things from chrome , but with same twitych stream they both use same amount of ram 🤔

i tested last time kde but after somedays i had a problem when i downloaded files and wanted to save them on drive , it told me that cant paste the files some files on my hard drive , i thought my hard drive was boken , so i tried different hard drives and same problem , but on live session it worked , so i gave up on it
but now isee kdee using so much cpu just for one video , tested even debian kde and same problem , all uses more than 70% just for a 1080 yt video

the live session in mx is a bit tricky, because u may have to save to live folder (Documents) and then cut/paste using superuser (admin)-mode file manager to other foreign drives. Probably same for Debian live

u just boot the hirens iso. Then open command prompt as admin on desktop

and open File Explorer to see drive names/letters for all your drives

Btw for fluxbox i am testing it , and i now remember why i had a problem with it years ago. One problem is the brightness isnt working
And one main problem too is the menu

Like when i move the cursor it doesnt show me the thing i am on it

you should be able to adjust backlight brightness plus video brightness

btw, the menu thing in fluxbox is natural. You can roll your mousewheel up or down to change the highlight, or via arrow keys. I always use mousewheel

you can also just press Windows key , and it opens centralized start menu (essentially Rofi) and it functions same way regarding wheel scroll or arrow cursors or type-search.

MX linux flagship is xfce. ppl just go with first simple choice

Kubuntu and Tuxedo OS - flagship DE is KDE Plasma

if concerned about resources, agility, then people with brains will go with lighter desktop environments

it's an easy fix

this data drive you made to ext4 (probably with root administrative power) is now owned by root.

use the DISKS app > partition menu (gear icon) to take ownership of that specific EXT4 partition

Yeah its not bad compared to the old one 😅 but a bit expensive , so i had just a 256 , ofc its fast in some stuff but since the cpu is a bit not that good i qm having some problems and limits , like with discord its lagging , sometimes 10 wimdows is the max i can go with for a normal usage
