Hi. I am on Linux Mint 22.1 (Xia). I use driver manager to switch my NVIDIA driver when there's a new driver release. And I use proprietary drivers rather than open. I only see open drivers after the 550 release even though NVIDIA have released both open & proprietary drivers for the latest 570 drivers. I used apt instead to install the proprietary drivers for 570 & it is working. But when I launch driver manager now, it thinks I have the nouveau driver installed, even though it says "1 proprietary in use" at the bottom. Anyone else? There's obviously a problem somewhere. But I don't know if this is a known issue.

Just for clarity. I think there's a problem with Driver Manager that needs to be addressed/fixed so that it will list both open & proprietary drivers.

the only open driver is Nouveau.

afaik, all the listed ones in DM are proprietary nvidia ones.

I downloaded NVIDIA 570 drivers from their website & tried to install the .run file. 1 of the first questions was if I wanted to install the open version or the proprietary version. So, it would appear that NVIDIA produces 2 versions of the driver. This is the list that I see in DM. The latest proprietary version is 550. All versions after this are open versions. Clearly there is a problem with DM because I can still install the proprietary version using apt. DM needs to be fixed to list both open & proprietary versions of the NVIDIA drivers.
