when you click Browse in grsync for the source folder, you should be able to see a details view right?

wild pilot
#

in the browse window, details view, can you click the name column? that will sort alphabetically

wild pilot
#

when you click Browse

lean crypt
#

there is no details - tab

#

verbose is

#

do you know Linux Mint Cinnamon ? sure i need to write it on the help need

wild pilot
#

you may also open a regular file manager, put details view on, click name column to sort alphabetically, then drag into grsync source field

lean crypt
#

it is amazing if it really works

#

but why needed to drag something ?

wild pilot
#

so it fills in the field

lean crypt
#

why stand alone software cannot do it alone ?

#

fills what field ?

wild pilot
#

idk the grsync browse window too well. i would have thought it has details view when choosing stuff

lean crypt
wild pilot
#

check it

lean crypt
#

okay. i try

#

not able to do it

#

cannot drag any to GRsync

wild pilot
#

then just click "open" in first field

#

that will mean same thing as "browse"

#

in the resulting pop-up, which is a file-picker window, sort by name or type or date

lean crypt
#

how does it make copy order 0 to Z ?

wild pilot
#

yes there is.

wild pilot
#

click "name" column or "type" column to sort

lean crypt
lean crypt
#

i have NEMO

#

in mint cinnamon default

wild pilot
#

it's not the file manager. It's the file-picker that is part of my system. It appears to be a gnome picker

wild pilot
#

yeah i know

#

rsync is the core under grsync

lean crypt
#

what is gnome picker ?

wild pilot
#

it's the file picker. this shows up whenever you click either: open, save as, from an application

#

in this case, it is what appears when clicking "open" from grsync

lean crypt
#

well, i dont have it in my system

wild pilot
#

show what u get when u click 'open'

lean crypt
#

no it does not open

wild pilot
#

ok it works the same way. let's say in above example, you had many folders, all different names. you would click 'type' and/or 'name' column to sort alphabetically. then choose from that which you want to backup

#

first field, is the source: what you choose to back up

#

the second field, you choose as destination. as in, WHERE you want the backup (rsync copy) to end up

lean crypt
#

are you real sure ?

#

i just think you making me look stupid here ?

#

is this the level of competence here ?

#

blind nerd advicing another ?

#

" helpfull citizen "

#

" show me how to make coffee in step by step "

wild pilot
#

which folder u trying to choose? just double click it to go in it

#

then left click the columns. i didnt say right click the columns

lean crypt
wild pilot
#

yeah ur trying to sort subfolders it seems, but there's only one there in pic

lean crypt
wild pilot
#

look at my pic, and the red underlines I showed

lean crypt
wild pilot
lean crypt
#

i showe you !!!!

#

this is solving nothing buddy

#

can you help or not ?

wild pilot
#

what are u asking?

lean crypt
#

okay now buddy

lean crypt
wild pilot
#

click open, find your directory next

lean crypt
#

no no no

#

it does not copy from zero to Z

#

it copy in some crazy nerd linux order

wild pilot
#

can only choose folders

wild pilot
lean crypt
wild pilot
#

well it's an example

lean crypt
#

can you help or not help ?

#

is this high it gets here ?

wild pilot
#

put the files you want into a folder, even a temporary one. the ones you want. then choose that folder in the first field in grysnc

lean crypt
#

how to make copy order from zero to Z ? again and again

#

can you help or not ?

wild pilot
#

show an example

lean crypt
#

what mean by example ?

wild pilot
#

cuz u can change the sorting order like I said. clicking the name or type column

wild pilot
lean crypt
#

well, it does not work like you inform

lean crypt
#

because i am to copy that folder

wild pilot
#

ok. do it

#

u can always sort the result.

lean crypt
#

how to sort ?

#

i dont give a FFF for result

wild pilot
#

open nemo, put details view, click NAME

lean crypt
#

i want it to copy in alphabetil order

#

is this too diffícult to Great GNU / Linux ?

wild pilot
#

idk man

#

u can just copy it

lean crypt
#

why the hell, random copy order ???

#

how hell is in charge in this implement

#

who

#

if i need to talk to Linus Torvalds, maybe is better

#

if he knows something of this shit

#

i think there is some eunucs inventing this system
