I have already used Linux Mint for a few months now and I want to fully encrypt my disk to prevent evil maid attacks. I have already backed up all my files in the cloud (pictures, config files, etc.). How do I do it? Also, how do I know that I am already using LUKS and full disk encryption is already enabled on my laptop

To my knowledge, this can only be done at install time. So if you are ready to reinstall for this, get your flash drive ready. Disk encryption is (unsurprisingly) selected when you tell the installer about the target drive.
