and through which I need to leave the filesystem I can put through rufus?
And if you're going to take it, you have to put it on the gpt section or the MBR.?
Your English is kind of bad, but I'll try to answer.
That is, what is the order of action First I take install the usual Windows I allocate for it all my drive, then already in the system install all the drivers and so on. Already then I compress the disc from 1tb to 600 and 400 gb just then allocate for linux?

you dont have to really shrink it first
the Mint installer has an "Install Alongside Windows" option
Make a bootable USB first with Rufus or Ventoy.
if going to install linux on new computer, (2014 to 2024) use GPT in rufus or ventoy
and the hard drive should be gpt too
gpt
but i have a mbr disc now i can just convert it and then when windows won't start reinstall it?
BOOT MENU ^ (your computer may look different, but use uefi usb)
I've never seen this on my PC, even though it's an msi board.
u can redo Windows first if you want
make 100% UEFI mode
MSI use F11 for boot menu
how old is it?
Ahhhh
H510 pro that new motherboard
I just didn't know about it xDDDDDDD.
yeah u see the green checkmark I put?
Thanks for the clarification. When I try it out, I'll post here.
use that everytime u boot USB installer
first for Windows ISO
then for Linux ISO
then it will prepare drive in GPT mode and set up full UEFI-run system . (Do Windows first)
- Definitely use UEFI mode

that's how you do a single-drive dual boot.
and after u put MS WINDOWS, turn off Fast Startup before attempting to put Linux. (see the post with the ❤️ ❤️ at bottom in the link above)
not in BIOS. in Windows after
in both, actually
In terms of do I need to fully UEFI or can I just do the installation right away?
.
ok ok ok ok sorry if I'm stupid I'm just scared I've reinstalled Windows 1 time in my life and now dual boot and changing bios settings I'm just worried.
I barely reinstalled Windows and ended up with 300gb of unused space. Do I have to give it up later during the linux installation?
Look what I did. I allocated 600 gigabytes from my Windows drive, and I have 300 gigabytes left just as empty storage, meaning I can create them now already in Windows Disk. I'm not going to do that, I'm just saying that as a fact. Now when I install all the drivers and all this other stuff, do I have to go in and install Linux Mint?
Can anyone explain?
