#EA App not showing my friends list
1 messages · Page 1 of 1 (latest)
Play all your games on Linux. Lutris is an Open Source gaming platform for Linux. It installs and launches games so you can start playing without the hassle of setting up your game. Get your games from GOG, Steam, Battle.net, Origin, Uplay and many other sources running on any Linux powered gaming machine.
In this video, I cover how to install and use the EA App on Linux using Lutris, a universal launcher that supports many game launcher services.
This video will cover the standalone installation of the EA App on Linux, and not when it is launched separately by a game purchased in Steam.
Step 1. Install Wine.
Oh ok thank you. Will ask friend to test it out, since he also uses Mint. I just found it strange that suddenly it stopped partially working.
Just a question though, game itself bought on Steam also installed EA App on its own that only runs in background when I launch it through it. Even if I got access to standalone app from Lutris, my game will still launch the one it does by default as game is on Steam. Are you sure it will also fix the in game friends list that way?
Not only on mint this works on every distro
Hmm... even when game runs through Steam?
Alright
No,lutris one is different from steam one
Yes
Lutris and steam are seperate
I mean my game runs from Steam and it launches EA App in background
Btw what distro are you using?
Mint not newest one
Oh
I mean alright, thank you, but I have bought game on Steam and used Proton on it from very start. Game when launched launches broken EA App version in the background
I guess EA app doesn't work fine through steam proton
Lutris uses some different wine configuration as well to run
Maybe you have to upgrade your mint "maybe"
but it does let me join session online in the game through steam
Strange, so in the game I am not offline despite this issue.
Well my friend has updated and he had same issue.
I don't have needed knowledge to do it myself at this point but will do it nothing else works until my brother returns home for Easter
Well just to update you: my friend and I tried to install it through Lutris two nights ago and still same issue. I did suceed in connecting his public session despite not being able to see friends either in game nor in app. So far both of us agreed it most likely is EA problem and should wait for it to get fixed. Unless somebody else comes with solution in a meantime.
App updated yesterday but problem persist. Do you think port forwarding might fix it?
Somebody I just met last night suggested it.
