Years of downloading whatever and probably a trojan or something
No I mean on Linux
Oh I haven't filled up my linux, it's more just scary to see a 2 digit number go down
if u steer clear of flatpaks and install just system packages, u'd have enough for years
Okay I got scared to quick! But for future reference if I want to be able to access the disk space I have, how? Delete Windows is my guess
i guess run ccleaner on it to gut out old cached junk
uninstall bloat programs
esp. ones u never use
delete all web browser caches fully
delete the Mint ISO on windows since u have it safely on ventoy
delete old videos or game installers or stuff on windows that u dont need
delete google earth disk cache if applicable
empty recycle bin (obvious)
- on Linux, install Bleachbit (non-flatpak)
use it to clean temp files, junk caches n logs, unneeded language packs, thumbnail caches
and apt cache
- remove fully any flatpaks (FATPAKS) on Linux and replace with native system app of same name if available
Okay! Thank you! If you can't tell I don't know much about computers lol I just download stuff (Minecraft modpacks usually) that can go wherever until I have a problem. I'm going into the deep end by going to Linux lol
I got scared in the first place because a Minecraft modpack refused to let me make a world
mkay
Made me wonder if I had no space for it or something
Thank you for being patient with me!
np
remember, this app gives two launchers, bleachbit, and bleachbit root mode., the latter for system stuff (non-home folder junk)
uninstalling edge is also a good idea because its the worst chromium based browser known to man
and uninstalling all virtual machines gets alot of space cleaned (my bluestacks was like 50 gb omg)
Linux mint fill up so fast
probably because like every app is a flatpak
get rid of FATPAK, (unless ur desperate) and dont save Timeshifts on ur root drive (seriously, get another drive)
It's a laptop, getting another drive may be difficult. Though then again, it does have an sd card slot... but then I don't have a way to modify my 3ds' sd card... but filezilla exists so... hmmm....
Also honestly I haven't set up any Timeshifts (is that the thing that makes backups?) because I could feel how much space it would use over time and got scared
