Check BIOS settings, it is possible the second battery is disabled.
To be frank, I do think anything past T430 is shit, including your model.
i'll check bios settings hol up
About battery disabling: I think you are supposed to disable it before taking it out, so perhaps it is in that state and can be toggled back, or perhaps you just need to unplug and re-plug it to get it back from that state.
my laptop shuts down when one battery reaches zero/ if i turn it on it runs on the other battery. i dont think battery isdisabled
Sounds like the controller is derpy. Can probably be fixed by swapping out the battery with the derpy controller, or perhpas with a BIOS update.
controller?
do i need to take the battery out and put it back in?
it used to work normally on winbows
This is what I would try. Every battery has its own controller.
It is also possible that Lenovo, in their infinite wisdom, moved some failover logic that should be in the BIOS to their Windows drivers instead. In which case there is no fixing this.
I do have a T450 with dual batteries here where the failover does work on Linux. But not sure if that is true for all dual models.
do wat
