did u have it disabled before picking nvidia driver?

desert zinc
#

yes i switched to open source again, someone told me to use proprietary but it didnt work either

brazen silo
#

do you have at least one usable screen right now?

#

@desert zinc

brazen silo
#

on Mint?

desert zinc
#

maybe cuz my 2nd monitor doesnt have gsync

desert zinc
brazen silo
#

see if inxi reports stuff in terminal . inxi -b

#

if not installed, install the package inxi

kk

#

so I see nvidia , driver: n/a

#

are you using the opensource driver at the moment?

desert zinc
brazen silo
#

k well its driver did not load, before u attempt a reboot, do mokutil --sb-state in terminal and list the result

desert zinc
#

should i attempt to reboot now

brazen silo
#

wait,

#

do inxi -Gxxx

#

to see what's going on with monitors

desert zinc
brazen silo
#

only shows display port monitor

#

only one connected right now?

#

also, not showing info, so may need a reboot

desert zinc
brazen silo
#

else, the driver needs installation

yeah, research how to install the nvidia drivers on arch

#

i've no idea

#

after u do, and reboot, then inxi -Gxx should show a driver version number like 550 or so on the nvidia information

desert zinc
#

i dont really know what to choose

brazen silo
#

also KDE info centre : hardware will show info

#

lots of reading

desert zinc
#

sry i have to go, it worked with open source thats why i switched to open source again

#

i just used proprietary cuz someone told me that a program may work which didnt before
