when you start your PC, a GRUB2 menu should appear (if it doesn't, hold ESC on boot), select Advanced Options, then Linux Mint in recovery mode. run dpkg, proceed and then you can continue or reboot.

The screen turned black as I was taking the pic

I rebooted and typed in normal again and it shows black screen again
