#LMDE Channel on Discord & Reddit

Can we have a separate section here in this community for LMDE only?
Also a spearate channel on Reddit will be even more necessary.
I think in terms of usefulness, LMDE is the most optimum option within Debian.
And Debian itself is the most stable, safe & overall useful Distro.
So LMDE is probably the most practical operating system for users to get work done, by far.

Hence it is the most underrated OS in history, even now.
Having these 2 new channels, here within this community & specially on Reddit in addition to current existing Linuxmint in Reddit, will help it grow & get feedback/bug_reports as more will find it via search engines this way.

Here, the current section called linux-support will be renamed

  • linuxmint-support.
And a new section under it created called:
  • LMDE-support.

Thanks again for the most useful OS for masses ever.

I think adding a new channel only for that here is unnecessary, specially if you can already mark (as you did) in this channel already if you're talking about LMDE or Main Mint. The fact that the channel is called Mint support should cover all versions, since LMDE is also Mint (Linux Mint Debian Edition).

@thorny sierra that's the status quo now as I explained, it doesn't address my points

Bundling pure debian mint flavor (lmde) with Ubuntu_mint_debian Frankenstein, two very different things.

I think here + reddit specially (new channel there) will 1) get many seo search hits & 2) great publicity as a result & 3) bring many noob users from other distros & even macos/windows. I myself can detail many valid reasons why not to do what i requested, but I will not. Lol. On balance tho my request will have great advantages. I think the Ubuntu legacy mint version is dead man walking, however great a client base & ye oldie reasons & attachments, again for many reasons. Best to face facts & not cripple lmde as in the last few years, in our minds, efforts, resources, PR, emphasis, etc etc. Ubuntu will make that decision for us anyway, sooner or later.

for a regular user, what are the advantages of LMDE over regular LM?
