#keyboard flags

so it worked after replacing the flag with the flag of iran, but it doesnt really look good, how do i redesign it to work as it inteded to be
So, what are you trying to do? And why exactly?
can you basically make that flag a flag of kurdistan
So...is there a Kurdish keyboard layout or something?
there is but
the flag used is the flag of iran
a country which executes and oppresses us
so i dont like it and decided to replace the flag
under usr/share/isoflags
but it wont look as good since
its not designed as the other flags
Soooo, why don't you open a bug report against the keyboard locales package like a sane person instead of jumping into the alleging racism and saying you don't care? That is not going to get you much sympathy and makes you just as bad in terms of intolerance and hostility.
mint devs will most likely not listen
You are aware that the Mint developers do not control the upstream locales package yes?
Yes, you do.
If you are unwilling to follow the proper protocol to even get your issue listened to properly, I have no time for you in this server.
Good day sir.
Now then
You need to track down the package that's responsible for the keyboard locales and/or displaying the flags. @lofty forge
You then find out if that's a package inherited from Ubuntu, is packaged for Mint specifically, or has its own bug tracker.
Since I am able to, I have notified the couple Mint people who are here who might be able to provide that information, but I can't guarantee they'll know or be able to do anything to help. Is that understood?
So
Theres a path usr/share/iso flags
And the flags are located there
I can merely replace the iran flag with my one but it wont look as good and
It'll still be there for everyone else
So idk, what do you think i do?
And there is already a Kurdish flag and Kurdish keyboard layouts available?
No there's actually not.
So no flag, but layouts exist.
So the keyboard is programmed to show iran flag when its selected
Yeah indeed
I do not know the rules that govern what flags get displayed or even added to the system, I part wonder if you're going to have the same issue as the Catalonia guy from a few months back.
Regardless, yes, filing a bug report would be the best way forward.
Yeah thats a root fixing of the problem. where can i report that tho.
Like I said, it depends on the package.
It might need to be upstreamed to Ubuntu or something.
So like, in that case i have to report it to ubuntu instead?
For the package in Ubuntu, yes.
The problem is, I don't know what is responsible for pulling the icon like that, I'm assuming since it's the keyboard switcher in Cinnamon it might be worth reporting there, but equally it might not be the package responsible for providing and assigning the flags.
Yeah. Thats tricky.
But ill still try my luck reporting to cinnamon, where do i do that?
Thanks appreciated
There's hope for you yet ;)
Yep thats why I'll still try and see what i can do.
