I've searched around how to backup my usb-stick but i get so confused with all of those programs. i do not have an external hard drive (yet) and I do not want to lose my data (again). I do not have the means to save them on another computer either.

Before I installed Mint I just put my files on a usb-stick and called it a day, but the whole usb-stick got corrupted and I was able to save my files via TestDrive.

So, has anyone some idea/advice?

or make a separate free account for one of those services if personal data is in it, and dont give out that account to ANYWHERE (and use strong password, and keep pw backed up on paper in safe place)

for that precise thing

#

but u do need a physical destination to have it backup to

#

if u favour online storage, type "welcome" in Mint menu search, and see there the online-accounts setup/integration with file manager

like lot said, if u have room on the laptop, just copy the usb folders there

#

copy 1: on laptop
copy 2 (original): on usb stick
you now have a backup

#

extra protection:
copy 3: on OneDrive online (in case of house fire or flood, for example)

#

other services : nextcloud, Mega, Dropbox, google drive

well, time shift is basically rsync. so making snapshots of the usb drive doesn't make any sense. you can just copy the files to your drive and it'll be the exact same effect while taking up no more space

idk why you're overcomplicating your life so much
