try using sudo dpkg --force-depends -i <package path>

But keep in mind that whatever you are trying to install might not work even if you are able to install it due to the lacking dependency (especially if it is a critical dependency).

that might be because of the lacking dependency. You are on Mint 22 right? If yes try to see what are the installation instructions for the program you want to install on Ubuntu 24.04

okay i fixed it

i ran sudo apt-get install -f

#

i uninstalled it

#

im going to try the appimage version

how do i upgrade that dependency though
