Yeah, I ran the latest update of LMDE on a laptop that was sent to me. the system was running perfectly, but after the update and upgrade the panel went away
I've run a variety of things: dconf reset -f /org/cinnamon/ didn't do anything
it may have been an applet in the panel that should have been turned off before upgrading
alt-F2,
cinnamon-settings
go to Panels item
I'm looking at Panels now
u mean when making a new one?
list the exact before and after versions of lmde
was it a major distribution upgrade from 5 to 6?
u can do ctrl-alt-backspace
ctrl-alt-f2
login in black screen as usual
yes, it was 5 to 6
then sudo apt update
then sudo apt install --reinstall cinnamon-desktop
then sudo reboot
that's it
after that whole procedure?
it looks exactly the same
add a new panel
that's what i was thinking
hopefully wont crash this time
Applets, turn off all of them, except the core ones which u can't
any progress on this after the last suggestion, @tight warren ?
