#Kernel Panic when booting from my bootable USB- but I already managed to successfully boot!

Linux Mint XFCE. Booting from a 16GB USB drive. I have already booted successfully, but after changing from the open-source driver to the closed-source proprietary driver to fix display issues I rebooted, and it would not reboot again.

I had to write the kernel panic by hand, IDK how else to copy it, I'll write the text down in a second

the number/number field is hexadecimal (prefixed with 0x, eg 0x52/0x5c)

I have no idea what any of this means except maybe like the kernel accidentally offset itself, whatever that means

#

mentioned it on a server full of trans people and got told it was because nvidia drivers are a pain in the ass, so I guess that's one way to get tech support

because this is my only USB stick I'm just gonna reinstall Linux Mint onto the stick again. Didn't get much done yet anyway.

#

specifically was told to try a MESA driver

Do you still need help with this issue? mint_girl_blanket

the MESA driver btw, refers to the linux built-in one for Intel graphics. A lot of pc's have a motherboard graphics chip (integrated graphics) and it's Intel-made very commonly.

if it's the live system is being nutty as shown, it's either Windows Fast Startup is on; or sth else

#

unless ur using it on a pc with nothing on its internal drive, and that ss is from Windows on anoher pc

nope, I re-wrote the USB, fresh OS, no longer an issue. Left the drivers alone this time

I think I may actually have a hardware problem... should have the GPU checked out. I have had issues in windows with the screen flickering very rarely, I just forgot to mention because I always assumed it was a cable fault. But with a nice new displayport cable replacing the old HDMI cable, nothing was fixed. So... my graphics card might just be struggling to drive my 4K monitor due to it being damaged?

the error u hand wrote wasn't display related
