I installed linux mint and the keyboard was a but odd the alt, Ctrl and win all resulted to shift L so I search around and found this command
sudo dpkg-reconfigure keyboard-configuration
once I ran it I chose the generic option with 104 keys like my keyboard once I restarted my keyboard wouldn't work so I got the on screen keyboard and tried a few others but none worked
My keyboard is a redragon varja
And when I was on windows the keyboard worked as intended

In Mint, you'd go to control center > keyboard > you'll be presented a settings menu, there is a selection for keyboard make/model. Since redragon isn't supported, you'll need to find something comparable out of the other listed keyboards -generic 104 standard key might work since that's a 104 key layout excluding multimedia buttons
also, sudeo dpkg-reconfigure-keyboard-configuration changes it only for the current session, it reverts on reboot.

depends what variant, I'm using Mate desktop -'start' menu can be custom. Might be listed in 'preferences > keyboard' (but you can also get there from control center, same setting)
