Can't eject my USB Stick

Hi! So when I try to safely eject my USB Stick from inside the computer it says the "Volume Is Busy" with the application in question being "XDC-Document-portal" I'm currently walking around school with the Stick still inside the computer

It's like safely remove on windowz

Data may be still being transferred

I don't see that anywhere though

Plus the progress bar for transferring the two files to my USB said complete and I deleted the ones on my laptop, I thought I was good to eject but no

Shutdown the PC. That should safely stop anything using your drive

It worked, I powered off and back on then it ejected with all the files

Do you have a file manager or terminal open in a directory on the USB?
