Hello. im trying to make a bootable Mint CD (or DVD) for a relatives computer. and i was wondering how to do so 🤔
is the default right click ISO > open With "Disk Image writer" enough to make a bootable CD/DVD or do i need some special software to do so?
I also tried to do it in windows with Rufus but seems it cant do CDs/DVDs, only USB sticks...

Im pretty sure she has some malware on her PC so i dont want to risk infecting one of my USB sticks (i only have large *expensive *ones), thus the CD / DVD thing.

thanks.

sudo apt install brasero

Brasero is a program that writes isos to DVDs or CDs

I did manage to burn it but seems to get stuck on the mint logo during boot. Idk if it's because cds are just so slow and it tries to boot into a live environment or if it's just messed up

you can also press Escape at the large Mint logo to see what it's doing in the startup process

#

also, u can use Mint's own USB image writer to write a USB, and it will be made read-only just like an optical device anyway

(can be reversed later by formatting the usb)

Is it possible to go straight into the installer without first going into the live environment? (OEM install took 17min)
