1 messages · Page 1 of 1 (latest)
you're on windoz?
mint cinnamon will do
what kind of gpu you have?
nvidia users need extra steps
backup your data before proceeding
so you got an intel gpu?
you can still game fine
now get ventoy
to make your bootable usb
this
you need to make a bootable usb to install mint, ventoy does that
and you need mint iso
so you got the iso?
can you stream?
so I can guide you
anyways, got ventoy?
extract the zip, you'll get a folder
look for ventoy2disk.exe and run as admin
plug your flash drive
then set ventoy like this
@fervent cedar
so it boots on any system
what?
what AI has to do here 💀
did you set it like the shot?
plug your usb flash drive then hit install
it's instantaneous

no, just backup your stuff
you don't need drivers
no
ventoy just makes a bootable usb
now copy mint iso to the new ventoy usb
if you already installed ventoy
got mint iso on ventoy usb?
send a shot
use your phone smh
anyways, once you got mint iso on ventoy usb, reboot to your BIOS
depends of your system. on mine, I press F2 when booting
is this a desktop or laptop
oh, sony
from sony website
idk, but get into your BIOS
idk if your laptop has secure boot
neither if it has CSM
look for those
disable csm
please don't do this
we are volunteers, we don't owe you help
wdym
does it have a csm or something like that option?
does it have secure boot
since you don't send images, idk what kind of bios it has
btw, check if it has virtualization support
good
I guess you have a complete legacy bios
now save and exit the changes
then boot to your usb
You can boot your VAIO computer from external devices, such as an optical disc drive, a USB floppy disk drive, or a USB flash drive by using the BIOS function.
so you boot from the ventoy usb
once you get to boot off the usb, it will show a ventoy screen. press enter, then normal mode, enter. it will boot mint. press enter on the menu and wait til it loads mint desktop

you're not done yet
once on mint desktop, connect to the internet then open mint installer. check the codecs box then select erase disk and install mint.
then you're good
