Hello! Im trying to tip my toes into Linux pool, sorta speak. But get really confused over "proper" procedure for partitioning disk. Can you someone please suggest the proper disk structure for Mint. As far as i gather - i need to partition disk for /root (around 40 gb, right?) and Swap (the size of RAM?) and the rest left for /home, Is this right? Do i need also make 512 mb for "boot" section?

no ur making it too complicated.
if ur installing fresh , just do erase and install and it will take care of everything
u don't need a swap partition, it will make a swap file
u dont need any others as the installer will make what it needs to boot
- if ur gonna dual boot with Windows on same disk, all u MUST do is turn off Windows Fast Startup, and disable Secure Boot. the installer will give option for a dual installation and let u divide free space up.
