This is easiest with the GUI. You want to ./VentoyGUI.x86_64. Make sure nothing else is trying to access the medium in the meantime.

#

And do check if you are using GPT. You only want MBR for legacy stuff that explictly needs it.

im not rly sure

#

i was just trying to live boot debian

#

i tried other distros like linux lite manjaro and mint xfce and it worked fine and instanntly but debian requires me yo set up everyerhibtg

Debian ISOs traditionally are only installers. They do offer a live ISO now, but you have to specifically select it.

and while you can install (quite well) that way, u can find live cd/hybrid images called livecd on their site, did u get Ventoy to set up good on your USB?

oh neat

tawny plume
#

is there a reason why there is the third folder here

remote sentinel
#

system volume information is some windows filesystem folder thing

#

windows always makes it on filesystems

#

it is usually hidden on windows though

#

just ignore it

That usually only exists on NTFS partitions and contains housekeeping data for the filesystem that is not meant for users to access. +1 for ignoring it.

#

ah ok

#

now it kind of makes since, i plugged it into my Desktop that only has windows on it and i think right after then is when i noticed that file popping up on ventoy

Yes, Windows creates this on NTFS partitions. Actually a sign by which you can tell if Windows created an NTFS partition or something else did.

I've seen it made on non-NTFS flash drives whenever they get plugged in to any Windows 10 or higher pc
