soo i got the mint archive manager but i can still not find out how to open all 10 zip files at ones to get 1 pdf magazine out of it 😒 looks like i need to extract 1 by 1
Archive Manager. Included already. works on right-click too in file manager.
@toxic geyser
Just extract the first one if the file is split across volumes
More specifically, make sure your archives are all in the same directory, open the first archive with Archive Manager and tell it to extract the file (and pick where you want to save it). It should then proceed to go through all the partial archives automatically.
strange, must be the file that is dmg or something, its a total of 109MB but i only get a 10 MB pdf that i cant open
truncated rar data
Or you do not have all the partfiles. Happened to me once.
It is also possible that you have to start with the last partfile. Some old warez-style packaging was like that.
if it's a rar file (I've heard decoding them is sometimes hit and miss on linux) get Wine installed and then get WinRar to run it via WINE
Actually, if it is a RAR file, sudo apt install libunrar5.
i did need to download and install wine and winrar 😒 now i can open up that ebook file. What can be the problem that i dont get it to extract correct doing it with linux stuff?
rar is rather proprietary, so it may have needed that special library that Curunir mentioned
still odd, I can open rar files with ark on plasma
no need for winrar unless it's an odd rar file
i have tried 2 diffrent files and the result is the same 😦
don't remember what archiving app mint uses but it should work
if i want to remove all apps that can extract rar files, what command can i use? want to remowe Winrare (Wine) and install the mint version from scratch to see if that works
there's no winrar for mint
Installed it true Wine to see if that worked (and it did)
