u sure u plugged into proper port?
for hdmi out, go to config tab
Oh ok
But how do I fix the audio out of Bluetooth and headphone jack not working
And the HP stream is from 2021
for BT, open it in Settings, set it up, then switch to that in pulse audio vol ctrl - config tab
the headphone jack idk
show pic of connector
later is fine
Uhhh I'm a complete Linux noob how on earth do I get there
Mine doesn't look like that
Like I said it's a mostly unmodified install
on xfce, settigs manager button is near the logout buttn in menu
Uhh mines different
More like that
should have bluetooth in there
I've connected to my headphones
u can also find stuff easy by typing name
3 pin or 4 pin plug?
I ain't have USB ones
I'm back home
I'm back hello
k
So what do ya want me to check
show me what u mean about the misv
u mentioned something about "misc"
Oh ya Bluetooth
aight do the settings thing, step by step
is it a bluetooth single speaker or earbuds?
Headphones
wait, what is the 16WMS device truly?
A Bluetooth speaker
alright, did u pair up with it, and then select it in Pulse audio?
to verify if at least that works.
It's nearly dead
another thought is the pc would likely have to first 'disconnect' from the speaker, in order to then be available to connect to the BT JBL headphones
It works on the speaker
ok good. disconnect the pc bluetooth connection from it
then click the side button to put the JBL phns in pairing mode or broadcast-availability mode, and set them up on the pc
well u wanted to see if they work on the computer, right?
Yea
so disconnect them from the phone (in the phone settings)
then put them into callout-mode . this is usually done with a button on the headphones themselves
in here, there must be a 'search again' or 'refresh' button
good. sync them
then they should appear in pavucontrol, in the config tab
It works
ok that part's solved.
I have my PC in front of me lol
is it wired to a screen that has builtin speakers with an HDMI cable?
well you'll need to do that if u want to test the hdmi
Ok it's plugged in now what
A lil 23 inch tv
so if u plugged into the tv's hdmi #1 port, set the TV input to hdmi-1
then on the computer press and hold the Windows key, plus tap the P key
you can mirror the display
It auto mirrors it
then turn up the TV volume to a reasonable level.
then go to Pulse Audio volume control
config tab.
pick the profile dropdown to hdmi stereo
Ye
u have to select that profile ^^
How
i just wrote how
go here.
I am
then go to the configuration tab.. stretch the window wide so u see that tab
And what do I change it too
there's a dropdown menu named something like profile
pick hdmi stereo Digital
all good now?
ok so that part's solved.
so now, switch the profile to Analog Duplex
then click the Output tab, see what it shows
plug in wired headphones
u picked Analog Duplex at the top?
No I picked the HDMI output and speaker output
what is in the picture here is fine to listen to sound on the TV, plus use an analog mic
for headphones, switch to the top one
Why
Windows is so less complicated
what do u mean why? u asked me if it's good. I told u what that highlighted thing does
u want headphones, put it to what i said
please select ANALOG STEREO DUPLEX from this window
and then check OUTPUT TAB
that's it.. it shouuld work then
I did select it!
then there's some incompatibility
Why can't this be automated :/
well what do u listen with normally?
Headphones
it will just remember that setting
try to unplug the headphones, u should hear the laptop speakers automatically
and then replug headphones, they should resound again without issue
alright so that solves that
