also, when i unplug and plug it again, it doesnt detect it as charging
rn it is plugged and my laptops battery light is on
but linux doesn't show it as charging
im scared lmao
like it is detected but it isnt charging
just stays the same
well it wont if u just replug it.. the voltage has floated up
@vital sedge I think I have had the same issue. Seems like some kind of firmware bug. If you let it down to zero percent, it will "reset" and the charging will start to behave normally again. Unfortunately, I do not know any other way to fix it
so i let it go to 0?
what if it doesnt charge again lmao
the battery voltage has gone up substantially enough that the charging system wont apply further energy
idk im scared, never had this happening to me
If it's the same issue as me, yeah, that should do the trick (but it's not a permanent fix).
look in Power Management, battery tab
i see, i gotta let it go really low and then try it again, if not, just to 0
ok
yeah let it drop to the ideal 30%
i see
i mean its kinda my fault bc i always let it plugged
okay okay i see
also this, the battery's history
NVM
it recovered
yeah let it go a while, like Lodestar said
im gonna let it go to 10% anyways, just in case
yeah back to normal, apparently
now i unplug it and wait
Battery issues <SOLVED>
I wouldn't say it is solved yet
meh, i kinda have to wait and thats it
But do tell us if the problem is resolved once it is at zero
for a more permanent fix I think you need to update the embedded firmware somehow
the bios software?
No, not the bios
yeah i can update it, haven't done it since 2018
ah i see
i can do that
but at the moment im gonna drain the battery
should take abt an hour
yeah u were right, thanks
the battery pack has a monitor chip that may simply be miscalibrated. So 85 is really 100. I wouldnt pay it mind if u get good run time
Actually, should I delete my comments here and make a new issue thread?
