#change login window
28 messages · Page 1 of 1 (latest)
can anyone help me please?
I have set gdm3 as my display manager. However, the login window (that appears after closing the lid and opening again), still looks like the stock linuxmint lightdm one. How do I change that?
Anyone here?
Thanks, but that is basically the thing I had before. When I lock my system, it still goes to my old login window.
Today I talk about how to change your display manager.

that command Cast shows should do the trick.
Yes yes I already did that. My display manager is gdm already. When I sign out, it runs GDM. But when I am logged into Cinnamon and for example just close the lid and open it back up again WITHOUT logging out, it's still the old interface (No GDM)
so u did the -f thing as he says?
i have an idea
yep
do you WANT it to require a password when resuming from lid close?
cuz u could just disable that and it should awaken from suspend
and be on desktop
and as far as screenlocking goes, u could DISABLE Mint's own screenlocker, and install Xscreensaver (which for example can do a slideshow of nice photos from a designated directory) and it has its own 'require password' to get back to desktop
well thats cool
lets do that
just type 'screensaver' in start menu now
done
so if u have ur pc set to suspend on lid close now, it should just be back to desktop on lid re-open now
yep just did that
