Hello. I want to install Linux Mint but I ran into a problem. So I had this kinda old install of Linux Mint on an USB. The version was .2 instead of .3
I booted into grub and then I selected Linux Mint. Then I got “kernel panic: attempting to kill init”.
I thought that the USB install was borked so I flashed the latest installation on it. Now I cant even see my USB in the BIOS boot options. (I can still see the USB on Windows and all the USB options from the menu are enabled)

Anyone got any clue what the problem is?

I followed everything here

#

The problem I encouter is that the USB is not prezent in boot menu

so remake the USB with something that supports EFI boot. I know Ventoy does, in its intaller's Options> Partioning style menu

Also just searched online abt this and I want a confirmation

My usb should be written in exFAT or NTFS

#

So I used Ventoy to create the bootable USB and that did the trick for me. Also it was written in exFAT this time
