using a wireless bluetooth headphone, no input, when i try to test the input from settings like open the tab itself it closes and disconnects my headphones from bluetooth, and when using other apps their is just no input besides a stable sound like whats show in the pic that i managed to get before crash, output works perfectly so its just this
#Linux not dectecting input from (microphone)
62 messages · Page 1 of 1 (latest)
and yes the headphones themself work i am 100% sure of that
only time it disconnects is that not sure if its related to the issue
are you experiencing the br disconnect bug ?
not sure this only happens when i open something previewing my mic input
my computer just decides to not
Try opening the Bluetooth control app and right clicking the headphones and view the audio profiles
If there are a few listed, try clicking on A2P Sink
Or Hands Free
theirs hands free
I will just drop a similar bug I have been experiencing here https://github.com/blueman-project/blueman/issues/2026#issuecomment-1794209866
and the a2p sink, a2p sink is already selected
the solution was to basically forget the wireless earphone and then reconnect
thing is rn my issue is input initself doesnt work too
idk if thats the exact issue you are referring
is their any commands i can do here to maybe figure out what linux sees my microphone as or something
input works their is a sound coming out of my mic but its just some random sound non stop and i cant talk thhrough my mic
try this solution
did that
Headphones should switch to hands free automatically, but the microphone can be manually disabled.
Audio quality to and from will be heavily degraded, and there is no fix for that.
i dont matter i just need at this point any sound i can get out of my mic
What happens when you switch profiles? Sound different? Headphones disconnect?
before i check is their a good app i can use
for sound managing
because basic settings wont do it and im not trusting discords little sound preivew thing for this
(Switching to handfree disconnects my mic but i can reconnect)
handfree output works ima try input now
Use the built in control utilities
wheres that
well thats where my issue is too
settings crashes when going to input tab
and disconnects my mic too
Interesting
i managed to get this on first launch but now i cant even screenshot in time
How new are these headphones?
1 month
they work on all devices and used to when i was on windows
works on android, my old laptop, and console im certain it cant be my mic
Your headset might be using a codec that is either unsupported or unconfigured. One sec
alr take your time
@grim pumice Does Mint use pipewire yet
well I don't remember but both are installed in the system
and both are indeed running in the background
@frozen crest can you show us what audio profiles are listed when you right click the headphones in Bluetooth settings
they have 3 sound servers running.
yea in a sec but just wanna send this
audio and input profiles unchecked?
should i worry
Well, now that multiple things are enabled, try hands free
And see if it works
Why is slow mode enabled in here, the fuck?
nope, i think this could be a hardware issue rn but i wanna see if i can use linux to figure out the issue
maybe something with the sound chip
