#How to apply gtk themes to certain flatpak apps?
30 messages · Page 1 of 1 (latest)
well I will go to sleep so a good protocol probably will be to just drop system info
so please suggest solutions
I have tried overriding themes using flatseal and GTK_THEME= var didn't work most likely outdated FOSS article
I have tried gradience to override theme there is this weird bug that whenever I enable flatpak option in the UI it is enabled and disabled at same time when I reopen it
this bug is what I mean it auto reverts but isn't clear if setting applied
please drop the solutions its 1:30AM I will brb in few hrs of sleep thx
this libadwaita is a mess with flatpk tho
anyone?
You may want to take a look at this:
https://docs.flatpak.org/en/latest/desktop-integration.html#theming
I installed dconf editor to check whether the system was on the correct theme in dconf config, I have installed the flatpak version of the said mint theme as well but as you can see flatseal for instance isn't adhering to it
wait one moment
realisation just struck
why is dconf editor on mint aqua 💀
2 sec
nah didn't fix it
rip
any other solution?
or is there no hope left
some progress was made
on dconf editor gsettings set org.gnome.desktop.interface color-scheme prefer-dark command works, BUT it actually borks half the system theme
it basically makes screenshot tool etc go adwaita and other apps adhering to mint theme
any way to actually override this completely
like why are gnome apps and mint apps so indifferent to each other on theming lol
I thought they had some protocol or something
OH GOD idk what black magic I played with but I copied theme folder from usr to .themes and it seemed to have worked
and then I overrided the theme
using flatseal
issues solved how to fix mint flatpak gtk 3 or gtk4 apps theme-ing
- Try flatpak theme default detect
mkdir -p ~/.themes cp -r /usr/share/themes/Mint-Y-Dark-Blue ~/.themes/Mint-Y-Dark-Blue sudo flatpak override --filesystem=$HOME/.themes
