Neofetch:

Distribution: Linux Mint 21.2 x86_64
Kernel: 5.15.0-89-general
Packages: 2306 (dpkg), 13 (dppak)
Shell: bash 5.1.16
DE: Cinnamon 5.8.4
Terminal: gnome terminal
Processor: Intel i5-2400 (4) @ 3.400GHz
Graphics Card: AMD ATI Radeon 540/540X/550/550
Memory: 3935MiB / 7908MiB

I started using Linux Mint 21.2 about a week ago. I'm curious about Linux and I've been watching videos. I was very enthusiastic about it, but when I succeeded, I was a little disappointed. It is not due to visual or similar software problems. With Linux Mint version the computer runs really slow.

Problems:
a) Compared to Windows, audio transfer, loading speed and similar things are slower and problematic.
b) I've tried at least 5 of the games that appear to be Platinum, Gold, and OK on protonDB, and I can get about one-ninth of the performance on Windows.
c) It gets much slower and annoyed compared to Windows when executing multiple processes…
d) Most of the time, I get errors when running the correct terminal commands, usually something is requested and is missing, system errors cannot be found, etc. He says things. I also purchased error messages with content such as traceback.

Solutions I Tried:
e) Of course, since I am computer disabled and I don't know much about these things, I changed distribution upon the advice of a friend... I tried systems such as Ubuntu and the last time I am on Linux Mint, as I wrote in the problems section.
f) I checked that the ISO file I burned to the USB was correct and confirmed it by trying it from a different device. The ISO file was not problematic. I also checked it with software such as HashTool.
g) I installed it for the second time via the same USB and followed Linux Mint's recommendations as much as possible. Afterwards, when I first turned it on, I updated the system from the terminal, updated the packages, etc. I did all the Driver Manager, Installing Updates, Mint Interface etc... But none of the problems disappeared, I still couldn't transmit sound with my microphone while downloading files and all the other problems continued.
h) Even though I tried to deal with what they call BIOS Optimization, my motherboard is not very good and there is nothing correct in the BIOS settings. I am using OptiPlex390. Still, I tried some performance-enhancing options that may be necessary in the boot settings.
i) I asked for help from ChatGPT, I followed the commands exactly, such as some package updates, but this did not work either.
j) I just installed the driver for my Graphics Card, AMD's RX550, and I received a message box from Mint saying "this driver is already up to date".

notes:
I don't believe I have any hardware problems. About ten days ago, while I could easily use Windows 10 and play graphic games with Visual Studio 2022 open in the background, this decrease in performance was disappointing...

I don't understand much about terms and similar things, so I thank you, hoping that you will understand and provide quality communication.

Solutions I haven't tried but you might be curious about:
k) I did not try to boot with a different USB, I do not have a different USB. Please let's not think that this is related to this, because as a result of an injury, I cannot walk or go out for 3 weeks.
L) I didn't do anything related to the kernel, and I didn't trust myself to break something. I don't even know what a kernel is.
m) I never opened the safe and made any physical intervention.

I want help, I had to take a break from my projects... I hope you will understand my haste, and thank you in advance.
Linux looked very nice, which it actually is. People are running it. Can you help me please?

I don't know if I can help a lot here, but have you tried to install a newer kernel? Or install it Linux Mint Edge (that already comes with a newer kernel). Generally if you have hardware problems with a Linux Distro it's something related to the kernel (current version don't support your hardware well or another thing) or an specific driver, or the hardware itself, when the Distro it's mature enough.

That's odd, before doing anything drastic though can you show me the output of dmesg using dmesg | curl -F 'sprunge=<-' http://sprunge.us and posting the output

#

That command will show how the boot up process went and if it detected any issues while also showing what filesystem and if any encryption is being used so takes a lot of guessing out

Please don't put url's in codeblocks as it's just annoying 🙂

#

nothing is flagging up in there though

Your hardware is well supported as well
