I fucked around and found out. Someone help me pls. Context: something something, reason to get mint, made usb messed up at first then used the right app, struggled to boot into mint after failing, succeeded, used install mint app got the errno5 message tried again and again and again and again and now we're here.

Also the reason for the urgency is that this is my only laptop and I hit the erase everything option like an idiot

I may be a bit late, but do you have your secure boot enabled ?

That's your secure boot being triggered
Disable it along with tpm
