Help needed with partitioning on first install, measure thrice cut once kinda deal :)

Fresh install of mint after a while and i havent used linux in a couple of months. Got 2 ssd's and a hdd now and not sure of how to manage root and home. On windows i used to run c for system and d for games and apps, what would be the equivalent in mint.

fyi it's not recommended to install the packages on a separate drive

You can partition like:
Have root partition for mint
Home partition for your stuff

upon further reading i figured out i should just keep root and home on one disc and use the rest as storage

You can make a dedicated home partition on another drive or symlink your other drive and make a 2nd folder
