My notebook's battery is 100% and when I disconnect the charger, it simply turns off and only works if it is connected. What is happening and how to resolve it?

@midnight venture Your battery is dead. Simple as that

How old is the battery? If it is young it may still be the battery but if it is young or even old please check your kernal. My kernal changed and the same thing happened when it did but I had noticed the kernal changed the last time I was using the laptop so I rolled it back and everything was all good and back to the way it was before. It maybe your battery like some have said but dont take that as being the problem without looking into your kernal. (DO NOT CHANGE THE KERNAL WITHOUT BACKING UP YOUR STUFF FIRST) I have changed my kernal many times but there are times that things dont go as planned so be warned it is safe normally but it is not without risk so just go slow and have a backup.

I just saw the above. If you do get things working I will say with this info it will not for long look closely at the condition values of your battery. Its cooked you can replace it but before you do make sure you dont do so unless you know what you are doing. I would get the best battery you can because that is one of the most important parts of the laptop. Make sure you get a battery that has atleast the same compasity if not more but dont get one that will over tax anything. You may even be able to get a battery that has double the compasity. Just dont do it without checking things out and making sure it want overload anything.
