And for hyprland wallpaper u just have to configure
wpaperd
For the wallpapers
Hyprland is a Wayland wm so it uses Wayland features @signal hazel
uhh i think im kinda dumb
you can also use xdg-open on any file to open it with the default GUI app.
sudo pacman -S vim
Then
sudo vim /etc/hyprland.conf
@woven falcon feel free to take over I trust u lol
I suggest you create a shell alias: alias open="xdg-open 2>/dev/null"
this will make opening files easier, if you're not comfortable with the terminal
you might need sudo permissions to do this
im in
but uhhh tf is this
seems like the config file doesn't exist yet
how??
there might be a way to create a default config
try vim ~/.config/hypr/hyprland.conf
docs for reference:
https://wiki.hyprland.org/Configuring/Configuring-Hyprland/
ima see how i can edit it
Look at the links I sent for reference
oh ok
You can ping me if you have more questions
I have never used hyprland before though
dunno why i cant type anything
in vim?
Use the following
:q!
Then repeat the commands used to access it starting with
sudo
Vim requires some learning
Ur a standard user rn basically u have a cat outlook no editing
You could use nano instead, which is a lot easier to use
When u Access the file @signal hazel immediately hit the 'i' key to insert
isnt that hard to close
i seen some dude have it on for 200 days 💀
ah dang, we could have gotten the classic: "how do I exit vim?" :p
:wq! Closed
YIPPEE
:w write
:w! force write
:q quit
:q! force quit
:wq write quit
:wq! force write quit
/ search [standard mode]
Mention esc
oh right, escape to return to standard mode
basically, in vim you have different modes
- standard mode (navigation mode)
- insert mode
- visual mode (select mode)
...?
maybe something else
dunno how to save the config
im scared ill have to do it all over again
:w
oh ok
new arch problem (yeah im tired of this too)
back in the small questions thing
with another problem that i dont even know how to fix 🔥
i need to install yay
to install pamac
to install discord
so does yay not install or something?
nope
this condition thing gets in the way
im looking up stuff barely talked about to try and fix this
i've used arch twice and both were very short
if it was just as easy as installing x package i could probably help but something seems broken in this case
@signal hazel you don't need pacman to install discord
@wraith sphinx it is
just sudo pacman -S discord
oh 💀
pamac is like a gui thing for the aur right?
yes
it's not recommended
@signal hazel please read the wiki for more help installing packages https://wiki.archlinux.org
okii
Pacseek requires yay, along with 99% of his examples. Just fyi
Please don't get pamac
Just use paru and pacman
Want a GUI? Use gnome software
Not recommended due to what it has done to the AUR
Also octopi is useful
I just use discover and paru
ill try an remember
ok
thank you for d help
got discord and other stuff
I just run web discord
