#External API

It would be fantastic, I guess it would be like an OSRS runelite, where you can add add-ons to the game and the developer is only responsible for verifying that the add-ons do not violate the rules.
this is something that goes against contract use i guess. that for sure can be modified., but that effort must imply a good come backin a lot of terms for gf.
A lot of mmorpg has this possibility (look WoW with tons of add-ons provided by players, look elite dangerous etc..). open API means a lot of trouble that can be generated if not managed carefully (just to mention one of them, add-ons could be customized and selled by/to other players, and that's illegal. without considering security issue that could arise...).
By the way, it's an interesting suggestion but unfaceable... open API implies players that are also programmer to use their time to help gf to improve QoL, that is a really good thing, but i think they put a clear line between users and gf, for example look at metin 2, now it's possible to buy an auto-exp premium in the shop (there is also the free one with less feature) that EVERY player use to grow up. There's no such good thing that comes out from give open API by now, could be necessary in the future? Maybe.
So, in conclusion, i think it is a really awesome thing (as a programmer), but there's literally a tons of cons that gf has to consider. And on top of everything, i think the community is not prepared for that. This suggestion could translate into a message for gf : to shrink time needed for realization of the implementations of ppl suggestion in game cause there's a lot of good ideas that can give a big improvement on how's the game is perceived and i think that something is moving on by now.
EDIT: instead of express your disappoint in emoji try to explain why
Just imagine a filter. No more vegetables/event objects.
What you're saying really doesn't make much sense.
An API actually has more benefits than problems (if done properly).
If APIs are verified with GF/Entwell, there shouldn't be any problems. The example you give of Metin 2 isn't applicable to Nostale since there's already a rule against auto-exp.
Add-ons that are sold aren't applicable either; they would be contributions that players make to the game (such as GMs, who are volunteer players).
I really see it as viable. A programmer can contribute to the game. GF/Entwell verifies that the add-on doesn't break the rules or the game, and it can be implemented so that the player can use it.
