#Equipment from boxes – class specific chances

I’d like to suggest that equipment obtained from boxes should be bound to the class of the character that is opening them.

The idea comes from the frustration of often finding very strong Martial Artist equipment (all the time a gearwheel sheld top tier, that's worth max 100kk), while the gear for other classes is usually just mid or even useless.

For example:

  • If I’m looking for equipment for a Swordsman or a Mage, I would open boxes with a Swordsman or Mage character, increasing my chances of finding gear suitable for them.

  • To keep things balanced, drop rates could be adjusted instead of making it 100% class-locked.

For instance:

Opening boxes with an Archer could mean higher chances of finding Archer gear (bow, dagger, armor), and lower chances of equipment for other classes.

Example rates: 1.5% for Archer gear, 0.5% for the rest.

This way, box rewards feel more relevant to the player’s class while still keeping variety and fairness in the system.

Variable % is not the right approach for this. Calculating first the appropriate % may require effort and end up not being accurate, for which we should also consider the differences between servers that would have both the same %. On top of that, there are quite unpredictable variables to take into account, and the number of players of certain classes can always change with time, depending on how the state of the game is in terms of balance and new content.

Is the idea alone of binding equipment to the character that opens it still something you'd like? Reading your comments about it

I suppose it would be something similar to SP 5 and 6, that the SP that the raid box gives you is according to your class.

It really wouldn't be a bad idea altn

I'd like to have a bind 100% class-locked when i open boxes like SP5/6, cause it's another way to bet on equipment. Most of cases in which i decide to bet equipment using amulets is for something that i need, so it's not a bad idea to bet on boxes to find something that i need in a wider range, cause in that case i will looking for armor and left/right weapons of my class.

I do understand the argument from players of less popular classes (e.g., Martial Artist), who prefer that all classes can find equipment also for their class, since there are fewer players opening boxes for them. However, in terms of fairness, that simply means they would also need to bet on their equipment just like every other class does in order to get something useful.

My idea of having a variable % drop rate could make this approach a win-win for both sides — classes that might gain an advantage and those that might face a disadvantage. But if that isn’t possible, I’d at least like to see a fixed class-lock percentage. From my point of view, this would make things fairer and would turn box opening into a genuinely useful way to bet on equipment, rather than just a method to farm money.

@stable talon That's true, the idea of daily raids is really nice. Since very few MA players bet on equipment or try to get it from boxes (I've never seen one do it, instead they wish to find top sword/staff...), there's a clear imbalance between demand and supply for MA gear , or for any class that isn't meta.

In terms of fairness, I rarely see MAs selling gear for other classes; they just open raid boxes they're forced to (Azgo, Armas...). On the other hand, other classes flood the market with their gear. This causes MA equipment prices to constantly drop, since only top items are in demand, creating frustration and a sense of unfairness for box openers.

It’s not necessarily unfair, but the current system forces players to open boxes mainly for money, not for gear that actually fits their needs.

I like the idea! If doing it for every raid is too much, maybe start with raids like Azgobas and Ultimate Arma. You can only do them 5 times a day just like Draco and Glacerus, so that would not have much impact for less populated classes while also it will feel more rewarding doing them

I would be kinda fine if it's only on limited raids (asgo/ulti), but not on general.

Having a larger stuff availability is also one thing that make you choose a class over a different one.
If you delete MA stuff for instance, then it'll be even harder to go and stuff this class.
Being a cheap class with lower demand than offer is an argument why I took it.

Same might happen on next act stuff. If we find out (maybe) archer become the new OP class with boss stats, then if you can force most stuff to balance on that class, others will fade away.
