From what I did was 4x+x-9x

Problem Solve 1)
4x + (-9) = -5

Problem Solve 2)
-5 + x = -4

Its wrong... How is it wrong because on my previous word problem was

2x+x-9x

Problem Solve 1)
2x+(-9) = -7

Problem Solve 2)
-7 + x = -6

(I got that right but not the other one which is -4 is wrong....

What should I do

Before you give guide, do you think I go do the problem first and then see what i did wrong?

The answer I got is = 2x+5-14

and i got another wrong = 7x-14

What I did was focusing on the x which I did was

3x + 5 - x - 14

3x - x = 2x + 5 - 14

2x + 5 - 14

Another one i did was

2x + 5 - 14

= 7x - 14

I would do something similar to what you do but remember which have x and which ones don't

just split it up into the ones with x and ones without it
