No, then you'd have to minus 4

The reason why we take six is that ideally, whatever equation we have must give us 10 dollars if we input d as 0 (i.e. only i km)

And if you take it as 4d+ 10, you'd have 14, not 10, if they go one km

#

By removing the four from ten, you remove the extra 4 that you add when you put in values
