I mostly just need a bit of guidance on what i did wrong and how do i go right
can you rotate the image
my head hurts lmao
Why did you add the integrals?
I think you're confused about what area the integral would give you
The radius goes from the y axis to the point on the curve
I thought because its the volumes of each half of the 3d shape thats why
How do I do it then, knowing the radius is 1
It isn't though
The integral does not give you each half of the shape
What do you mean the radius is 1?
It varies as a function of y
Your first inegral rotates this area around the y axis
Ohhhhh thanks so is it the second integral subtract the first integral so 22pi/15
Giving me 36861.35pi^2cm^3 which is fairly close to the actual model so it seems right for part b and c
Yeah
But i'm pretty sure you evaluated the first integral wrong
it shouldn't have a -1
I got 578/45 pi for the volume of the model
which should be closer to what is expected
I redid it and got 576pi/45
