  1. Do not ping the Moderators, unless someone is breaking the rules.
  2. Do not ping the Helper Moderators, unless there is a conflict between helpers.
  3. Do not ping other members randomly for help.
  4. Ask your question and show the work you've done so far. If you've posted a screenshot of a question, specify which part you need help with.
  5. Wait patiently for a helper to come along.

Well, what did you do?

#

Though, it's a bit odd, since there seems to be an extra bracket.

  1. I focused on 3(3x-8) which is 9x-24
#
  1. I focused on (-4(8x+1) which is (-32x - 4) (pretty sure)
#

Then it’s (9x-24)(-32x-4) I just removed the brackets and turned it into 9x-24-32x-4 = -23x-28

#

So final answer I got: -23x-28

#

Is this right or wrong

Oh

When you multiply two brackets, you need to multiply each term from the first bracket by each term from the second.

#

Though, note that in this case it's easier to factor out constants, since the numbers in brackets will be smaller:
3(3x - 8)(-4)(8x + 1) = 3(-4)(3x - 8)(8x + 1) = -12(3x - 8)(8x + 1)

Did I get it right until (9x-24)(-32x-4)

shadow heart
#

Yes.

#

So thats equals: -288x^2 - 36x + 768x + 96 = -288x^2+732x+96

shadow heart
#

Yeah, seems good.

#

At least, if they actually meant it like that.

That bracket could also be erroneous, in which case they could've meant 3(3x - 8) - 4(8x + 1).

I don’t think it’s that complicated

We just doing grade 9 math practice

Don't really remember what we did in 9th grade. And it probably depends on the country, anyway.
